What’s on at Avignon Jazz festival ?

Still a little bit groggy after the emotionnal and buzzing theatre festival, the Avignon city does one event after another.

From August 1st to 5th, the stunning Carmes Cloister opens its heaven doors to the Avignon Jazz festival.

Created in 1992 by few passionate people, the Tremplin Jazz of Avignon promotes jazz music, reknowed names and young artists through a contest and a festival taking place in Avignon.

Years after years, it has become an unavoidable stop and a sought after cultural moment for jazz lovers.
Le Tremplin welcomes famous names such as Eric Truffaz, Joe Lavano and Dave Douglas but also non-professional seeking for a stage.

This festival encourages cultural mix through jazz music and gathers a subtle combination between free shows where european talented jazz players meet their public and prestigious concerts with jazz established artists at the top of the jazz scene.

A way to make jazz culture more accessible.
