The poet Dante Alighieri, who died 700 years ago, is known in particular for having written a work considered to be a masterpiece, named The Divine Comedy.<\/p>\n
To celebrate the anniversary of his death, the Consulate General of Marseille, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, is organising an exhibition in the Grand Audience Room of the Palais des Papes, inspired by the Divine Comedy.<\/p>\n
The Divine Comedy is the most translated work in the world after the Bible.<\/p>\n
Giorgio Dante, an Italian figurative painter born in 1982, is in the purest tradition of great Italian realist painting. With this project, he explores the long, difficult and arduous human journey from Hell to Paradise, the journey of humanity and ultimately the journey of every man.<\/p>\n
